Easter Murmuration 2022

Easter 2022 was a wonderful weekend of bird photography at RSPB Snettisham and Brancaster Staith in North Norfolk.

Early Morning Bird Photographs

I very much enjoy photographing wildlife around Mount Farm Lake.  The lake is small with lots of areas to photograph birds within range of my 200-600mm lens.

Dog fight between Red Kite and Crows

Red kites are renowned nest predators especially of rooks and crows. … When a red kite decides not to move on but to carry on circling lazily, low over the fields, then the level of aggression will build and the interaction develop into an angry dogfight.

Swan takeoff and landing

I was fortunate to capture these images of two swans taking off and landing at Mount Farm Lake in Bletchley this week.

Cygnets

Four cygnets take to the water, leaving two eggs behind in the nest.

incubating her eggs

I have been aware of this nest for some time so I took my camera and long telephoto lens in the hope of seeing something worth capturing. I was not disappointed!

Nesting Herons

A collection of heron images taken at Bletchley on 19 April 2021.

The herons in flight are parents to three chicks and the next few days will be taken up trying to get more intimate images.

Magnolia in bloom

Magnolia in Bloom at St Mary's Bletchley - David P Stewart Photography

The annual Magnolia in bloom is at its peak in the grounds of St Mary’s  Bletchley.  The  2021 display is wonderful and has moved from a bundle of buds to a full display of flowers in only a couple of days due to warm weather.
