Ely Cathedral

Fabulous spectacle with some pre reformation wall decorations and colouring

Dating back to AD672 as an Abbey, the present building was started in 1083 and became a Cathedral in 1109.

Its most notable feature is the central octagonal tower, which provides a unique internal space and, along with the West Tower, dominates the surrounding landscape.

Images shot with Lumix S1r and S Pro lenses, edited in Lightroom and coloured to taste.
